An Armor Plate is designed to protect the transducer from side to side as well as front and back impact. An Armor Plate takes the place of the factory transom mounting bracket. It is also designed to attach to our Spring Back Bracket # SBB-5 for all around transducer protection. If the Armor Plate is installed anywhere other than on the transom, for example on the set back wall, some shimming may be required if the transducer angle needs to be adjusted. A Spring Back Bracket # SBB-5 is recommended when ordering an Armor Plate for all around transducer protection. If an Armor Plate breaks, which has been attached to the boat without a Spring Back Bracket, it has no warranty whatsoever.
